The New Normal

What’s life in the USA really like since same-sex marriage was legalised?

This is their new normal…

On Saturday, a drag queen who goes by the name: ‘Xochi Mochi’, wearing five red-tipped, demon-like horns, read to children at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library in Long Beach, California, as part of LGBTQ History Month.

“It’s so important to have representation and normalize all the letters in LGBTQIA+ in everyday lives,” Mochi said.

Similar events took place in Boston and New York.

Kat Savage of the Brooklyn Public Library told The Associated Press, “Drag Queen Story Hour is fantastic because it addresses all of these issues of gender fluidity and self-acceptance and all of these topics that … are real - are very, very real.”

Catch a train in Toronto and you'll be exposed to this pornographic material on display:

In the UK, ask former Labour councillor Chika Amadi how freedom and morality has been impacted by the legalisation of same-sex marriage and she will tell you about this picture of an innocent girl, shielding her eyes from the procession of naked, middle aged men at a Toronto Mardi Gras parade.

Chika was horrified by what she saw and posted a series of tweets about it…

Her tweets were labelled “homophobic” and Chika was suspended, pending investigation.

LGBT Labour’s co-chairs, Ian Dylan Thomas and Sarah Kerton, described the councillor’s posts as “offensive, distasteful and homophobic”, adding: “These comments have no place in modern society.”

In Australia, The Gayby Baby School Action toolkit, is the sister program of the ‘All of Us’ Safe Schools Coalition teaching resource. It encourages teachers to implement a whole school approach to teaching gender theory.

Programs like this have become widespread wherever same-sex marriage is legal.

At least while we have a vote on this, it’s OK to say ‘no’ to the new normal.
