Time’s Running Out to Have Your Say – For Freedom

This is a defining moment in Australia’s history. The outcome of this postal survey will echo through generations to come.

As former Prime Minister, John Howard, and Paul Kelly, editor-in-chief of The Australian, have said: The idea that you can change the understanding of something as fundamental as marriage without changing anything else is an “intellectual fraud”.

What those changes will mean for us and for future generations is yet to be revealed by the ‘Yes’ campaign. They’ve been mysteriously quiet about that.

So, the onus is on you and I to do our due diligence.

Common sense says that if we’re going to amend a foundational building block of our society, we should take a look at other countries where the amendment has been in effect for a while and research exactly what has changed.

It turns out quite a bit has changed in every country where same-sex marriage has been legalised.

From fining conscientious objectors, to implementing radical sexuality education so all children understand that gender is now irrelevant and interchangeable; removing terms like ‘husband’ and ‘wife,’ ‘mother’ and ‘father’ from legal documents and shutting down freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom of religion.

These changes are all kind of a big deal. They are the elephant in the room that the ‘Yes’ campaign has refused to acknowledge or address. Why do you think that is?

The last day for the ABS to receive your survey form is Tuesday, November 7. So given the reply paid envelope has a priority stamp on it, it could arrive on time if you post it by Friday, 3 November. However, if you haven’t already posted your form, the safest way to ensure it arrives on time is to hand deliver it to one of the ABS ‘drop off’ locations around Australia, if one is handy to you. This survey is too important to leave blank. Make sure your voice is heard, before it’s too late.
